From our studio in Sydney we hand make every porcelain piece, actively building relationships with the people who buy and love our products across the world.
Sustainability is built into our design DNA. Our products eschew seasonality, complement any interior, and are made to last. All new additions to our range are designed to be useful and complement existing designs. We believe in conscious and responsible consumption, and this starts with good design.
We've always been dedicated to reducing our environmental footprint and our commitment to become carbon neutral was proudly achieved by the end of 2020.
Handmade porcelain drinkware, designed to last
The Mud Australia drinkware collection is proudly made in Sydney. Our pouring team is trained in-house and use a combination of experience and intuition to cast each piece. The beauty of our pieces can be attributed to the hand-made process and human touch.
Using porcelain clay sourced directly from Limoges, France, our 19 bespoke colours are mixed in-house. The pigment is tinted to the body at slip stage to provide colour depth.
Clear glaze is applied to the interior of each piece, leaving the exterior with a vitrified stone-like surface that becomes smooth with handling.

FAQs
What is Mud Australia drinkware made from?
Our handmade drinkware is made in our Sydney studio from high-quality porcelain clay sourced directly from Limoges, France. The thermal properties of porcelain help maintain the temperature of your drink, while the smooth unglazed exterior makes it pleasant to hold and drink from.
Is your drinkware and glassware, dishwasher and microwave safe?
Porcelain drinkware:
Our porcelain drinkware collection is food safe and can, with some care, be used in the oven, microwave and dishwasher.
To ensure your porcelain does not chip in the dishwasher, gently place each piece on the racks and ensure they are not touching other items.
If you don't have a dishwasher, hand wash with warm soapy water and carefully stack in a dish rack to dry with a clear space between each item.
Caution should be taken with sudden changes in temperature (eg. from freezer to oven / from oven to cold bench) as this may cause thermal shock which will damage your porcelain. Always place hot items onto either a cloth, wood or wire racking to cool porcelain from the oven.
Glassware:
Whilst our glassware can be cleaned in the dishwasher, as a handmade product we recommend that it be hand washed with a neutral detergent. We ask that you treat this delicate glassware with care and avoid stacking. Due to the inherent nature of its production there may be slight variations in thickness and colour.
Can I buy glassware in a set?
While we don’t currently offer a glassware set, you are welcome to add the items you require to the cart to create your own. If you need assistance, please contact us and we’d be happy to help.
